Legal Intern - Part Time Temporary
Intern will gain firsthand experience with a cutting edge legal team and will be involved in working on “behind the scenes” research, projects, document review, etc. while also learning how this department interacts and supports the business. Will be reporting to the General Counsel. Conduct legal research, draft legal memoranda, and assist in other legal matters relevant to the business operation. Facilitate documentation of contract approvals in compliance with the Company’s policies. Help maintain Legal Services document form library. Aid in first-level contract negotiations with external vendors. Aid in the preparation of materials for arbitration. Assist with generating graphs, charts and reports as part of the student complaint feedback process and also to support the functional areas of Bridgepoint’s academic institutions. Participate in the student grievance process: drafting correspondence, researching issues, correspondence with various agencies. Work with the Corporate Attorney to review contracts, research and review various communications and documents, and help coordinate discovery requests. Proofing/editing documents created by Corporate Attorneys. Partner with Operations Compliance team to review phone calls, listen to issues review, and work through speech analytics. Partner with Marketing Compliance to review online advertisements and/or participate in vendor call center monitoring. Must have grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Interest in legal issues and protocol is preferred. Active enrollment in Bachelor’s degree program (90 credit minimum required), Master’s degree program (no credit requirement), Law School, or recent graduate within one year of completing Bachelor’s/Master’s degree program is needed.
