Lead Azure Application Architect

Profile

Our Health and Benefits business helps large and mid-size clients control health and welfare plan costs, improve health outcomes and promote employee engagement through broad-based, state-of-the-art interventions. We provide solutions encompassing creative plan design, vendor evaluation and management, pricing and funding strategies, data analytics, valuation support, legal compliance and governance strategies. We also provide Specialty consulting services including clinical/health management program design, pharmacy solutions, disability/absence management strategies and claims audit services. Product based solutions such as our pharmacy purchasing coalition round out our broad-based suite of offerings.

The Role

As Lead Azure Architect will be responsible for the successful implementation of Azure architectures and environments and provide cloud security expertise. This role will act as an expert and trusted advisor who will provide guidance for transforming legacy implementations to the cloud for both software and infrastructure for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS and leading and designing for large-scale migration from on-premise to the cloud. You will be involved with:


Design and optimize cloud strategies for the cost-effective delivery of scalable, secure and reliable systems up to 99.999% uptime SLA
Help articulate business requirements associated with projects; develop and gain buy-in for high-level designs (Conceptual Architecture) that support the business requirements
Create detailed end-to-end architecture that entail the following elements: System Architecture, Application Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture, Security Architecture, Enterprise Application Integration, Microservice-Oriented Architectures, and Business Process Management
Work with development teams in migrating on-premise applications to Azure
Work collaboratively as a member of the development team to build best-in-class Azure .NET software solutions and securely design applications and services following industry best practices
Involvement in requirements discussions, project planning and in the system design and implementation
Conduct design reviews, code reviews, progress reviews and other project specific governance
Monitor performance and security
Provide technical expertise, estimates, and recommendations to the Application Development Leader and/or Project Management
Communicate risks and issues to the Application Development Leader and/or Project Management
Work with DevOps team to setup Automated deployments
Participle in the evaluation of emerging technology and tools


The Requirements


Bachelor'sDegree Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other engineering ortechnical discipline is required
7 years ofexperience in IT architecture including experience with cloud
2 years of experience withimplementation and support of cloud andhybrid-cloud implementations on Azure, including exposure tosome of the advanced services and features
Thoroughunderstanding of infrastructure (firewalls, network, load balancers,storage, monitoring)
Deep hands-on technical knowledgeof Azure PaaS components
Extensiveexperience with implementing, migrating, managing, and operatingapplications in an enterprise cloud computing environment
Subjectmatter expertise with Microsoft Azure, Azure AD integration, Azuresecurity and governance
Expertknowledge of serverless cloud architecture, microservices architecture,APIs, RESTful Webservices, Service Fabric
Experiencewith PowerShell scripting, design and building ARM templates
Experience building cloudenterprise architecture diagrams
Experiencewriting cloud architecture technical documentation, security accreditationand other technical documentation
Cloudexperience securing PII, PHI, GDPR, HIPAA Compliance, NYDFS and other dataprivacy laws
Containerization andorchestration tools such as Docker or Kubernetes


PreferredQualifications:


AzureCloud Platform Certifications are a plus
Understanding of Agile softwaredevelopment and Scrum methodologies
Exposure to AzureDevOps/VSTS/Git Branching/Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment
Experiencewith network virtualization and ability to troubleshoot cloudcommunication issues
Experiencewith infrastructure and application deployment automation tools
Experiencewith SQL Server, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB
Comprehensive knowledge of the VisualStudio development/SQL Management Studio environments
Working withglobal teams and offshore resources
