The candidate will obtain and organize all relevant documents for case reviews in appropriate cases that emerge during the grant period from the ongoing intake process and the fourteen FBI hair review cases described previously. Must have already been identified as appropriate for DNA testing the attorney takes all necessary steps to locate and secure evidence for testing including providing legal representation in any proceedings relating to securing the testing. Obtain testing by agreement with the prosecutor and if necessary, obtains court orders for testing, monitors the testing process and moves to vacate convictions in cases where the evidence supports the client’s innocence claim. Oversees any related factual investigation of the case that may be necessary to locate physical evidence or to obtain information about the case that may be relevant to establishing the factual innocence of the client.
