Safety and Occupational Health Applied Sciences Assistant Professor, Fall 2016

Duties: Working collaboratively with colleagues in the SOHAS program, will deliver innovative courses to support student understanding and application of physical sciences with emphasis on chemistry and other applied sciences. Knowledge and skills in industrial chemistry, toxicology, or environmental chemistry are particularly desirable. Serve Safety and Occupational Health majors and will teach foundational sciences such as chemistry, biology and physics as applied to occupational safety and health. Targeted areas of instructional focus are expected to include: basic understanding and application of organic and inorganic chemical principles, chemical nomenclature, chemical reactivity, risk assessment and controls to assure workplace, product and environmental safety. Teaching load is six 4-credit courses per academic year. As part of regular teaching responsibilities at this public liberal arts college, faculty members maybe expected to teach both in the major and in the Integrative Studies Program.
