The candidate must be current members in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia and must be admitted to both the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Georgia. Should preferable have 3-5 years or more of criminal trial experience, outstanding research and writing skills, and either appellate practice experience or extensive and equivalent motions practice experience. The position primarily entails providing competent and zealous representation and advocacy to indigent clients from the motion for new trial through direct appeal. Should have 1+ year(s) of experience as a practicing attorney. Must demonstrates the knowledge to conduct case research and documentation.Demonstrates knowledge of federal, state, and local criminal laws. Should demonstrates the knowledge to investigate and prepare cases for hearings and trials. Must demonstrates proficiency in the performance of the essential duties to function in the position effectively. Must have ability to make sound and well-informed decisions; perceives the impact and implications of decisions; commits to action, even in uncertain situations, to accomplish organizational goals; causes change.
