Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Legal Studies
The candidate should have specialty in Legal Research and Writing and who can offer the introductory Law and Ethics course. Special consideration will be given to candidates who can also instruct the introductory course in American Government for the Political Science Program. The position requires 24 semester hours of seated or online undergraduate/graduate teaching per year, and the candidate must have a JD in-hand before August 2020. A PhD in Political Science with a specialty in Public Law will be considered, JD is preferred. Should have evidence of superior teaching and fruitful scholarship, as well as experience working with diverse student and community populations. Success in pursuing externally funded research opportunities is desirable, as is experience or interest in working with non-traditional student populations. The mentoring of undergraduate Legal Studies majors is an essential responsibility.
