Description

The Counsel provides a full range of legal advice and services. The Counsel work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

The Counsel is an attorney who represents Humana entities and employees in legal counsel on data privacy compliance initiatives under HIPAA, GLBA, CCPA and other similar regulations, provide advice regarding cybersecurity incident response, negotiate data privacy and data security provisions in commercial agreements, and support the Company's data sharing and analysis activities all U.S. privacy matters. The Counsel will assist with implementing new regulations and drafting applicable related documents, drafting website privacy policies, EULAs, TOUs, and internal and external data privacy/security compliance policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications


J.D. degree
3 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with 2 years in a data privacy consultancy or legal practice
Experience providing programmatic legal and compliance guidance across a variety of legal issues and risk areas in addition to privacy (e.g., anti-corruption, sanctions, securities) to business stakeholders
Experience interacting with state and federal regulators


Preferred Qualifications


Experience with third-party risk management programs
Experience and comfort working with data, including to measure program performance and effectiveness, inform priorities and deliver insights to stakeholders
Excellent listening skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely
Sound judgment, critical thinking and analytical skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency on cross-functional teams with demonstrated ability to influence others
Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and handle changing priorities successfully in a fast-paced environment
