System Engineer/Manager

Profile

Systems Engineers (pre-sales engineers) are software experts who work alongside Area Sales Managers to structure and conduct evaluations of OpenFLEX 's products by its potential customers. Systems Engineers perform a wide range of duties; from delivering technical presentations and demonstrations to managing the evaluation process, conducting detailed requirements analyses, understanding the competitive marketplace, performing technical account management, and coding/delivering proof-of-concept and prototype projects. The most desirable applicants will have strong experience with Object Oriented software, a good foundation in software implementation, and experience in working with customers. Currently successful Systems Engineers at OpenFLEX have come from positions as software engineers, post-sales consultants, product managers, technical support engineers, technical trainers, and (of course) pre-sales engineers.
OpenFLEX considers Systems Engineers to be critical to our company's success. Systems Engineers will own 50% of the decisions and responsibilities in the sales process. OpenFLEX SE's will be expected to take great initiative to understand customers' problems and deliver viable solutions. Required Skills
B.S. Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
3 years software development experience preferred
Experience in OO Design and Programming strongly preferred
Previous pre-sales or customer oriented experience a plus
Experience with middleware, Object-oriented programming and design, and component-based development and deployment models, and distributed programming a plus
Experience with ERP suites or other enterprise applications a plus
Experience with RDBMS's a plus
