Associate Director, Development/Social Service
Duties: An integral member of the Planned Giving team within the Development Office with a special emphasis on endowment compliance, estate administration, and gifts of real estate and other complex assets. Will encompass all aspects of the planned giving program under the direction and supervision of the Director of Planned Giving. Assist Director of Planned Giving in reviewing and responding to questions from campus areas and donors regarding endowment compliance, endowment administration, endowment amendments, gift administration, as well as policy and legal questions related to major and planned gifts. Participate in the development and interpretation of department standards and procedures. Ensure compliance with university policies, federal and state regulations. Assist Director of Planned Giving with estate administration; coordinate settling of estate gifts with attorneys, financial advisors, insurance professionals, etc.; Coordinate with Development Services and campus areas to ensure that realized planned gifts are distributed and administered according to donor intent. Assist Director of Planned Giving to coordinate and manage outright and deferred gifts of real estate, oil, gas and mineral interests, and other complex asset gifts. Participate in the development of and ensure compliance with procedures to review and track acceptance and sale of gifts of real estate. Coordinate with Development Services to ensure proper recording of complex asset gifts. Coordinate the organization, tracking, and maintenance of records of complex asset gifts. Assist Director of Planned Giving in reviewing and responding to inquiries related to outright and deferred gifts of real estate, oil, gas and mineral interests, and other complex asset gifts. Draft gift agreements for Director of Planned Giving review. Coordinate with area development staff and donors to complete gift agreements in a timely fashion; Advise area development staff regarding appropriate ways to structure gifts. Draft cover memos and coordinate with administrative staff to track routing, signature and distribution process for gift agreements. Assist Director of Planned Giving with donor inquiries regarding planned gifts, planned gift solicitation, and planned giving donor cultivation and stewardship. Assist with planned giving efforts of area development staff and major gift officers.
