Responsibilities
A Senior Developer in the Fund Accounting Technology Group interacts regularly with the Financial Reporting, Tax, Fund Accounting, and Operations teams to design and build strategic solutions for a wide range of business problems. The Geneva accounting system
is at the core of these solutions. A set of components built on the .Net framework facilitate integration with the rest of the Back Office platform. This individual will assist with the expansion of the existing platform as well as future development.
Specific responsibilities include:
Building out the External Reporting platform to facilitate automation of regulatory filing
Working with end users to design new processes and customize Geneva
to meet specific needs defined by Accounting and Operations staff
Translating business specifications to complete technical specifications including time and resource estimations
Designing and building software leveraging Geneva and SQL platforms
Understanding the entire back office technology infrastructure and what role fund accounting technology plays in the domain
Qualifications
Programming experience with C#
required
Programming experience with Microsoft SQL Server
required
Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services
a plus
Programming experience with Java
, nice to have
Microsoft Excel
skills required
Experience with the Advent Geneva platform or a similar portfolio accounting system required
Experience with a variety of financial instruments, products and services required
B.S. degree required in computer science, finance, accounting or related discipline
Superior communication, presentation and analytical skills required

Responsibilities
Develop solutions to provide customized software solutions to front, middle, and back office investment groups. Developer is expected to take close direction from their team lead as he/she works either independently or within a group.
Developer should be self-motivated and have a deep passion for technology with concentrated focus on Object Oriented programming
Qualifications
Strong academic performance in computer science field leading into 1 or 2 years IT work experience with development skills in developing in C#, SQL
and Silverlight
or
HTML 5
Field experience working on a computer science project in a real-world setting under the joint direction of a supervisor from industry and a faculty advisor.
Worked as part of a team on one or more large projects.
Good time management, communication skills, and presentation experience to faculty, upperclassman, and/or employers is expected. Programming Experience should include the use of data types and variables, programming control constructs supported by various computer languages, input/output, basic concepts of OO programming
(such as classes, objects, encapsulation, information hiding, and code reuse).
Database Concepts Basic concepts of modern database management systems. Topics covered should include: data models, query languages, integrity constraints, indexing, query optimization, and transaction management.
Distributed Systems Understanding of some of the fundamental challenges in the design, implementation and deployment of large-scale distributed systems.
Emphasis on the logical analysis of a business problem and the development of a computer program leading to its solution.
Experience in system design and data abstraction.
