Position Title:
Linux System Administrator (System Admin)
This position is located in Boise, Idaho.
Position Description:
Member of a software solution Cloud Operations team in a world-wide complex and highly virtualized cloud environment. Contributes to architecture and design activities and will work closely with lead engineers from global architecture to design solutions solving critical business problems
Install and maintain infrastructure to specifications pertaining to current or future requirements including cabling, networking, Linux Servers, storage, software and cloud/matrix virtualization
Remote administration and automation of infrastructure tasks
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent plus a minimum of 8 years related experience
Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure implementations and concepts; AWS preferred
Strong knowledge of scripting language such as Ruby, Perl or Python
Experience with system administration/troubleshooting across multiple technology layers (servers, networks, storage etc...) Ability to apply solutions across same technology layers
Working knowledge of Monitoring and Alerting software and its connections to the virtualization software
Ability to work some off hours to support infrastructure maintenance schedule
Ability and willingness to learn and implement new technologies in a short amount of time with minimal assistance
Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to work alone or in a team with remote members
Skills required:
2 years in software development environment
4 years OS experience with Linux, ESX, patching, troubleshooting and repair
2 years Storage Area Network (SAN) experience to include install, configure, monitor, troubleshoot and repair enterprise level storage arrays
5 years network experience including TCP/IP
