Associate Designer Girls Kids - Tommy Hilfiger

Profile

The Associate Designer, Girls Apparel, is responsible for the designing and developing of multiple girls apparel seasonally.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing the design process from concept through production for Girls apparel including hand sketching, flat sketching, technical fittings, and creating tech packs
• Research trends and brand relevant concepts, fabric, details, and silhouettes based on seasonal concepts
• Assist in seasonal concept presentations
• Lead and present styles to cross functional team members and stakeholders during sketch reviews
• Create tech packs in PLM, providing all necessary design direction and trim details
• Work closely with other members of the design team and cross- functional teams to ensure a cohesive product line is realized and styles meet business costing needs as well as consumer needs
• Attend and lead fittings for owned categories
• Manage and update design changes throughout the season, and communicate with cross-functional teams in a timely manner
• Create and manage linesheets through internal program
• Manage samples and sample room as needed
• Responsible for communicating comments and direction for all factory submits related to owned categories
• Responsible for local market research on current trends and competitor assortments

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Fashion Design; focus on childrenwear, a plus
• 2+ years in Apparel Design related experience
• Girls Design experience preferred
• Ability to translate trends into a commercial category while ensuring brand identity
• Ability to envision categories within commercial restraints
• Flexible and easily adaptable to fast changing business needs
• Ability to multitask
• Organized and detail oriented
• Proactive and hands-on mentality for implementing better practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong technical experience in garment construction
• Must have proficient knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel, Web PDM/PLM
• 3D design experience, a plus
• Must be a professional, organized, and flexible team player with a positive mindset
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
