Senior Legal Counsel
The candidate handles all corporate and commercial areas of legal work for company owned and operated stations. Draft variety of program and rights acquisition, real estate, operational, and talent agreements, as well as provide assistance with contractual negotiations; Review contests and other station promotions. Review news scripts and promotional announcements and advise station personnel as to legal considerations, such as libel, invasion of privacy, intellectual property, and FCC issues; Respond to news story claim letters; Advise executives and newsroom personnel with respect to newsgathering issues and litigation risk. Other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate.
