CONSTRUCTION SAFETY COORDINATOR
Leader in New York City HVAC/mechanical construction is actively seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator. Successful candidate will be degreed (BS/MS) with 3-5 years of construction safety experience.
Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Safety Department, Risk Management, and the Project Teams in an effort to implement and enforce corporate safety and health policies and risk management procedures.
Duties:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, and other duties may be assigned.
Assist with scheduling safety trainings and managing training records
Manage third-party safety consultant schedule and reporting
Enter project data and manage reporting
Assist in the development of project-specific health and safety programs
Issue monthly Toolbox Talks documents to the field staff
Assist with sourcing and developing content for company safety newsletters
Ensure that Superintendents are requiring jobsite orientations for every new worker on site
Chase and manage records for all project subcontractor safety submittals in Procore
Ensure documentation is provided by Subcontractors to verify they are conducting the proper trainings. If necessary, assist with facilitating trainings in order for them to be in compliance with Federal and State standards
Maintain all required job safety records in Procore
Create any new safety forms, reports, and tracking logs as requested
Manage requests for safety-related site postings
Assist with completing OSHA logs and summaries in order to comply with annual posting requirements
Enter project data into insurance tracking system and assist subcontractors with enrollment
Partner with Risk to assist with any project-specific Contractor-Controlled-Insurance-Programs (CCIP)
Requirements:
Great organizational and time-management skills
Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proficient in MS Office
Physical requirements may include occasional lifting of file boxes up to an estimated 40 lbs., bending for lower file cabinet filing, and sitting for extended periods of time
Training Certificates from the Occupational Health and Safety Administration are a plus
Experience in construction safety field is
required
Bachelor's Degree preferred
