Description

The Lead Application Architect designs and develops IT applications architecture solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. The Lead Application Architect works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

Responsibilities

The Lead Application Architect performs technical planning, architecture development, and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent applications. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision. Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Responsibilities:

The Lead Application Architect will design and develop IT application architecture solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards.

Make decisions regarding team technical work approach.

Lead the technical aspects of migrating custom on-premise applications to cloud-hosted solutions.

Collaborate with IT Delivery Partners through deliverables like Conceptual Architectures, Technology Platform Evaluations, Technical Direction, and Technology Roadmaps.

Develop and maintain Architecture design artifacts.

Contribute to and lead build vs buy decisions from a technical leader perspective in collaboration with the business and delivery leaders.

Communicate and present technical aspects, risks, and challenges of a solution to IT and Business partners.

Identify, evaluate and assess risks to mitigate them and eliminate factors that might hinder the successful delivery of a solution.

Collaborate with IT delivery partners to resolve any technical challenges, including providing performance improvement opportunities and best practices for solution delivery.

Lead and mentor team members.

Required Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other technical field
8 or more years' technical experience
5 or more years' experience as an application architect
3 or more years' experience as a senior developer in large IT projects
Skilled in .NET, SQL, Windows development
Prior technical lead experience
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences


Preferred Qualifications


Master's Degree
Experience with SaaS solutions such as Workday, Salesforce, ServiceNow
Experience with Cloud hosting platforms such as Azure, GCP, AWS
Microsoft Azure certifications
Experience implementing data security
Experience with database design
