Job
IA Construction has an opening for an Asphalt Plant Superintendentto oversee the daily operations of our Lafayette HMA plant.
Duties / Responsibilities
Responsible for daily operations of HMA plant
Responsible for supervision of plant employees
Order all materials needed for production
Inventory control of all materials
Plant maintenance including ordering parts and making necessary repairs in a timely and safe manner
Approve invoices in OnBase
Responsible for safety at the facility
Participate in daily safety huddles
Train new hires
Report inventories daily
Report employee time daily
Communicate with paving foreman, plant manager, quality control manager, and office as necessary
Maintain good housekeeping at the facility
Report energy usage daily
Cross train employees
Work Closely with QC to ensure quality products
Some clerical duties as required
Qualifications / Skills
Computer, fax, printer, and copier experience
Ability to communicate with employees, peers, and management
Ability to lead and direct
Safety oriented
Mechanical and Maintenance skills
Asphalt plant experience
Physical requirements
Ability to walk, stand, and sit for periods of time
Ability to work in various weather conditions
Ability to work various shifts
Ability to climb steps
Ability to lift / carry objects
