ELO AFTERSCHOOL NURSE

Profile

The Expanded Learning Opportunities program seeks a school nurse to work in the afterschool programs (K-12). The Nurse will be on-site at 1 program location and accessible to all other 8 sites virtually or through the phone during program hours. The nurse will help guide and support any COVID-related policies or student assessments and contribute to overall student health management in the afterschool programs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The Afterschool Nurse shall meet or exceed the following qualifications:
Requirements:
A current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Vermont
Current CPR/First Aid
Qualifications include
Ability to act independently in an out-of-school time setting including routine and emergent student health assessments, and medication administration, as needed.
Ability to interact with students from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and disabilities.
Strong communication skills and team player
Experience in electronic documentation and communications
Ability to follow BSD district and school policies and procedures
Ability to work at least 4 days a week from 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
Key Roles:
Support afterschool sites (K-12) with any COVID-related health and safety questions or needs.
Available to support afterschool sites (K-12) over the phone, virtually, or in-person with health-related questions or assessments.
Provide, and/or oversee implementation of student healthcare plans, health management protocols, and policies for all students with health needs, and recommends modifications to the afterschool program
Adhere to protocols as outlined in the Vermont School-Age Care license
