Senior Attorney/Clinical Supervisor
The candidate will oversees all clinical operations, including providing legal representation; reviewing case plans and progress; develops and provides oversight of clinical practice, policies and procedures; supervises the work of students, clinical attorneys and other clinical staff; serves as an Adjunct Professor teaching the FYAC class, and keeping course content current. Provides legal guidance, advice, instruction, and occasional representation to individuals seeking such through FYLaw's telephone advice line; sends correspondence and resources as follow-up to those calls. Serves as member of FYLaw's Restorative Justice project team, including participating in volunteer training as needed and providing technical assistance to Restorative Justice Circles. Oversees aspects of the planning and implementation of the national Moot Court Competition in Adoption and Child Welfare Law. Provides research, legal analysis, and project management in relation to specified Center initiatives. Assists executive director with aspects of Center oversight, including project staffing and management. Juris Doctor degree (JD) is required. License to practice law in the state of Ohio is required. Should have 5+ years practice experience, preferably representation of clients in child welfare, juvenile justice, or similar proceedings. Substantial knowledge of child welfare and juvenile justice systems. A sincere dedication to furthering the interests of children and families. Excellent skills in Microsoft Word; solid experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Strong research and writing skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Ability to work closely and professionally with others as part of a team.
