My client is a billion dollar company that is experiencing continuous growth and is looking to hire an Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller will
manage and oversee the entire accounting team and is responsible for financial reporting, managing expenses, creating budgets, analyzing financial data, and developing policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective financial operations. The Assistant Controller is also responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC requirements and plays a key role in developing and executing the organization's financial strategy.
Responsibilities:
Own the accounting operations, including, general ledger maintenance, income statement analytics, balance sheet reconciliations and more.
Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes including detailed analysis and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts and preparation of consolidated financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP to ensure the financial close process is completed accurately and on-time.
Build and manage relationships with external auditors, accounting/tax advisors, and lead the annual financial audit.
Partner with the executive management team, to provide advice on financial implications of business activities.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software, billing software, forecasting tools and supporting databases, as needed.
Manage the monthly and quarterly reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Large / National / Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
CPA preferred
Management experience required
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Demonstrate strong organizational skills
Ability to create, lead and develop an expanding team
