Exhibit Specialist, GS-1010-11/11
Duties:
Will perform the daily operations of the wood, paint, and metal/mount shops. Will handle daily maintenance and repair as needed of all permanent and temporary exhibitions within the galleries and public spaces of the museum (approximately 90,000 square feet). Exhibit fabrication and exhibit preparatory work for the changing areas within the permanent exhibitions, the changing gallery and other public spaces in the museum. Paint, finish, assembly, and installation of fabricated elements. Occasional changing of artwork within the Visual Arts Gallery and other public spaces. Daily maintenance of the wood, paint, and metal/mount shop areas and associated hand and power tools. Monitor inventory of materials and supplies to ensure that maintenance and repairs can occur without delay and that exhibit downtime and disruption of the visitor experience is minimized. Perform daily visual inspection of all installed permanent and temporary exhibitions and submits written report to the Fabrication Shop Foreman.
