Temporary Law School Career Counselor
The candidate will provide individual advising to students and alumni in the JD program, with particular emphasis on working with recent JD graduates. Coach graduates through the job search process, including self-assessment, identifying target employers, developing a professional network and creating effective materials. Critique resumes and cover letters and prepare candidates for job interviews. Will develop new initiatives to engage recent graduates in the job search process. Conduct outreach to students and graduates to provide ongoing support with job searches. Promote initiatives to serve recent graduates. Counsel students/graduates on programs, design marketing efforts, host trainings, and oversee administration. Set up systems to evaluate programs' effectiveness. Participate in trainings related to the ABA/NALP Graduate Employment Survey guidelines. Collect all required data and ensure accurate recording into 3rd party online software. Display attention to detail with regard to documentation of the source of all collected information. Serve as a liaison to regional and national professional associations and employer communities. Attend networking events during and after regular business hours. Perform other duties as assigned.
