Associate Director - Gift Planning
The candidate will provide technical gift planning expertise in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting prospects. Will work directly with donors and their advisors, as well as school Senior Directors of Development and gift officers. Develop strategies, proposals, and financial illustrations, and present the materials in person when possible. Partner with assigned school-based teams to create fundraising targets and goals and the strategies to reach those goals. Use donor and alumni database to identify potential gift planning prospects and meet with them to introduce the idea of estate giving. Steward existing gift planning donors and gifts. Develop and present educational sessions on gift planning for volunteers and internal staff. Must have 3+ years of experience in gift planning or combined gift planning/development experience within complex non-profit organizations or relevant gift planning experience in an estate and/or financial planning capacity. Should have a BA/BS Degree. Must have Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and proficiency with databases. Good judgment and the ability to build positive relationships with a wide variety of people is essential. Additional degree credentials preferred (J.D. degree, CFA, CFP, etc.).
