Dietitian II PD - 8hrs/Days - Fountain Valley','ORA004386','!*!The Registered Dietitian (RD) II is a journey level position that reflects an advanced level of practice reinforced with Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), Commission for Dietetic Registration, American Society for Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition (ASPEN) or other conferred specialty certification. The RD II is responsible for collaborating with members of the health care team to provide patients medical nutrition therapy (MNT) using current, scientific literature and best practices. Utilizing the Nutrition Care Process, the RD II performs nutrition assessment and re-assessment, diagnoses nutrition-related problems, determines and implements appropriate interventions, monitors and evaluates the outcome of interventions. The RD II provides nutritional counseling and education to patients, caregivers, and family members as needed. In addition, the RD II participates with performance improvement (PI) activities, community education, teaching the bariatric class, outpatient services, interdisciplinary patient rounds, partnership councils, the Nutrition Support Team, administrative and other related duties as assigned. He/she participates in or leads performance improvement activities and/or assignments. The RD II acts as a mentor to all other RDs and the Diet Office/Hostess Staff as needed. Essential Job Outcomes

Completes nutritional assessments and re-assessments timely and accurately, meets charting goal.2. Demonstrates the ability to provide nutritional counseling to patients and families.3. Collaborates nutritional care with Nursing, Physicians, Pharmacy, and Ancillary Staff.4. Demonstrates the ability to provide nutritional counseling/assessment to Bariatric and NICU patients and families and attends CEU Programs, dept. specific educ./training, in-services, staff meetings5. Complies with patient safety goals for patient identification during visitation and demonstrates the ability to perform other related duties as assigned.6. Other duties as assigned.

 

Pay Rate: $40.00/hr 


Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. •  3-5 years in an acute care hospital setting preferred.•  Experience as a clinical dietitian to support Specialty Certification
Education
•  Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics or Food and Nutrition from an accredited college or universityn Nutrition or allied health profession preferred.•  Completion of an AND approved dietetic internship or advanced degree with AND qualifying experience required.
