Job Summary
Manages legal business matters pertaining to the organization. Provides a variety of general corporate and commercial legal services to a number of in-house clients, with a focus on project finance, M&A, corporate law, energy law applicable to the renewable energy projects in the emerging markets. Demonstrates direct legal experience in general corporate matters, including corporate organization, project finance, M&A, securities and capital markets experience is a plus, drafting and negotiating transactional documents, risk management, asset-backed financing, and contract management. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors and solid decisions making ability. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise and cross-functional teams.
Job Responsibilities
Provides project finance, corporate finance and M&A legal advice on all issues arising in the renewable energy projects in the emerging markets, including issues arising in the development, construction, operation and financing of the projects
Drafts and negotiates transaction documents for renewable energy projects ownership, transfer and financing
Manages local and international outside counsel on a cost effective basis and to drive solutions and results
Decision making and think on your feet skills are required; Foreign language fluency is a plus
Requirements:
Required Qualifications
Law degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum six years of related work experience.
International project finance legal experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Six to ten years of relevant work experience.
Energy sector or renewable energy experience in utility, commercial or residential/small commercial environment in the emerging markets
