Attorney - Social Security Law and Public Benefits
The candidate will work collaboratively with others in the unit to identify systemic issues, and develop strategies to address them, as well as to zealously represent individuals in need of benefits. Will also have related intake responsibilities and supervision of staff and interns as needed. Experience preferred particularly in the area of Social Security law. Entry level applicants will be considered if have strong clinical or internship work experience in Social Security claims. Must have excellent work ethic, organization, and communication skills. Should have excellent legal research and writing skills. Must have experience and ability to work with low-income and vulnerable individuals, individuals with limited English proficiency and individuals in crisis with an urgent need for subsistence benefits. Fluency in another language helpful. Florida Bar membership required or another State Bar is acceptable if willing to sit for the next Florida Bar exam.
