Profile

Microchip is seeking an entry level  Software Developer to become part of a worldwide team responsible for the development of a Linux graphics toolkit. EGT (Ensemble Graphics Toolkit) is a new open-source lightweight graphics toolkit aimed at making the best use of our ARM-based embedded processors. EGT is based on wellknown open-source libraries as Cairo, libdrm... As a member of the Linux Graphics Software team, you will take part in • Improving EGT: core optimization, performance optimization, new widgets. • The development of a composer (Rapid Application Development tool): support of EGT must be added to an in-house composer written in Qt.
Job Requirements
• Bachelors or Master Degree in Computer Science or related. • Experience with Linux and CLI (Linux Command Line)
• Experience with object-oriented programming and modern C .
• Experience with graphical user interface (GUI) frameworks, e.g. Qt, GTK, or equivalent is a plus.
• A history of working in and contributing to open-source software projects is a plus.
• Experience to computer graphics stacks and applications is a plus.
• Experience with ARM-based embedded processors running embedded Linux is a plus.
• Ability to communicate in English in both written and verbal forms
Competencies:
• Software development in C 11 (or later) standard.
• Software version control using Git version control system.
• General purpose software development tools and languages (GNU autotools, cmake, shell scripting, gcc, XML).
• Buildroot, Yocto, or cross-compilation experience is a plus.

80% sitting 10% walking 10% talking
