Associate Counsel
Duties: Represent and serve as General Counsel to Ames Laboratory. Collaborative member of the Laboratory Management team, advising Laboratory Management on a full range of ongoing legal matters, with a focus on contract, regulatory and compliance matters. Working with the Vice President for Research (VPR), and units reporting to the VPR. Report to VPR include the Office of Responsible Research (research compliance), Office of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer, and the Office of Sponsored Programs Administration. Work collaboratively with a broad range of individuals internal and external to the University. Exercise sound judgment on challenging issues and perform tasks with professionalism, diligence and integrity. Work independently on routine legal matters, and to recognize issues of institutional importance and keep the University Counsel, University and Ames Laboratory administrators appropriately informed will also be needed.
