Objectives of the Role:
The objectives of this role are to take over the day-to-day editorial responsibilities of managing copy flow to all IMN products. Currently, IMN distributes approximately 250 articles to a half-dozen editorial products, all of which requires some level of editorial oversight. At the moment, the Editorial Director manages this function, but as IMN moves into the social media arena, and begins to offer content as a solution to all of its business units, there is a requirement for an Associate Editor that can work with the Editorial Director to manage this flow of copy.
The first six months, the successful candidate will spend learning about the editorial products that IMN produces, understanding the editorial calendars and deadlines, and working with the relevant internal stakeholders and contributors. The candidate will begin to refine and update the editorial guidelines for each product/client, manage copy flow and edit copy as it arrives.
By the end of the first year, the successful candidate should be working effectively on his or her own, ensuring that all IMN products are successfully updated on schedule, and that sales and the Editorial Director have the sample copy they need to successfully provide potential clients with outstanding, relevant demos.
