Legal Studies Program Manager
The candidate will teach and provide departmental support through community and business outreach in the college's Legal Studies program. Will report to the Academic Affairs Office through the Division Chair for Business, as a member of the Legal Studies Department. Engage in program planning and support curriculum development for the program. Develop and maintain industry and community support for the program. Reach out to local legal professionals to create partnerships, internships, guest speaker opportunities, and job placement and follow-up opportunities. Maintain and update advisory committee membership and plan and attend meetings. Develop advising information and provide advising for students, staff, and/or the public regarding program content, policies, and activities. Promote the program on campus and with outside organizations through outreach and recruitment activities. Interpret, advise and implement institutional policies and procedures related to the program. Perform other duties as determined by the Business Division Chair. Teach legal studies classes to a diverse student population, with an emphasis on best practices. Assignment may include face-to-face (on or off-campus), online, hybrid, and/or evening/weekend classes. Promote meaningful student learning in course content as established in the course and campus-wide student learning outcomes, and participate actively in instructional assessment activities. Teaching assignment will be 2/3 or less of a 45-credit teaching load. Engage in department, division, and college initiatives; participate in shared governance; promote the college's values, and perform other contracted duties (for example, advising, community outreach) as required. Pursue appropriate professional development activities to stay current in assigned teaching field and technical field. Maintain comprehensive, current knowledge of the local, regional, and national fitness community.
