The Forklift Operator is responsible for ensuring all materials are transported and/or unloaded in a timely manner while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Assists with the movement of product from the blast freezer to the shipping dock and loads trucks as needed. Put-away and organize all product coming from production to the freezer and the shipping room. Backup on yard only yard driver. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Haul product from the freezer to the shipping room in an efficient and safe manner. Put-away and organize all product coming from production to the freezer and the shipping room. Keep freezer and shipping areas clean and orderly throughout shift; maintain an accurate inventory daily; perform inventory audits as instructed; help in shipping as needed; and back up on yard only yard drivers when needed.

Requirements:


A minimum work history of 12 consecutive months in the previous 18 months. (can be with multiple employers).

Must be able to understand safety rules and warnings.

A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License in the state of Texas or valid Driver License and able to meet Tyson Yard/Lot Driver Eligibility Verification and Authorization Requirements are preferred for back up on yard only yard driver duties.

If no candidates apply that are qualified for back up yard only yard driver then we will consider candidates for a regular freezer position.

Must be able to work in -20 degrees temperature and varying outside temperatures.

Must be able to communicate effectively and report to the transportation coordinator.

Must be able to obtain a Tyson Foods Forklift and Pallet Jack License.

Hard hat, hair net, hearing protection, steel toe shoes/boots, cold weather gear and any other PPE needed are required.

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations if needed.


TYSON YARD/LOT DRIVER ELIGIBILITY VERIFICATION AND AUTHORIZATION REQUIREMENTS To drive a Commercial Truck on Company property, Tyson Yard/Lot Drivers must meet the following minimum eligibility requirements: 1) At least 18 years of age 2) have a current Driver’s license, wh ich is not suspended, revoked or cancelled 3) have no DWI/DUI conviction within the previous 12 months4) have fewer than four (4) points according to the Tyson Yard/Lot Driver Evaluation System .
