Associate Attorney
The candidate will work for the real estate law firm. Should be a litigation associate to join active community association litigation team. Position primarily involves the defense of directors and officers or other agents of community associations under directors and officers (“D&O”) agreements in civil actions. Preferred Candidate will be a self-starter and personable. Must be able to effectively develop relationships with clients and peers with minimal supervision. The ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet time-sensitive deadlines is critical. Strong writing, communication, research, organization and analytical skills, as well as electronic time-billing experience, are a must. Preferred Candidate must have 3 to 6 years of relevant litigation experience such as assisting with mediation and dispute resolution, practicing in the courtroom, preparing pleadings, discovery and dispositive motions, written and expert discovery, settlement agreements, and taking and defending depositions. Prior experience defending clients under professional liability insurance agreements is required. Trial experience, as well as community association, land use, municipal, title, or employment law experience is a plus. Graduate of an ABA-Approved Law School required. Licensed to practice law in California required. Maintains membership in the State Bar and completes required CLE on an annual basis. Follows ethical requirements as set forth in the Rules of Professional Conduct and complies with all requirements of the law firm's professional liability insurer. Billable Hour Require 1800 hours.
