Senior Director / Assistant Dean of Law Career Services
The candidate will be overseeing all aspects of a comprehensive and innovative Career Services program, including the following: employer outreach; student and alumni counseling and advisement; program planning and development; external reporting of employment data; and office and budget management. Specific responsibilities include: Leading the strategic planning, assessment, and evaluation of career services initiatives. Cultivating, maintaining, and expanding relationships with law firms, public interest organizations, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations and firms for the purpose of increasing the number of employers actively recruiting and hiring the school’s graduates. Working closely with faculty, staff, administration, and alumni to coordinate career development efforts, including close coordination with Development and Alumni Relations, the Externship Program, and the Faculty Clerkship Committee. Counseling and advising students and alumni regarding career planning, goals, options, and opportunities in traditional and non-traditional legal careers, as well as job search and professional development strategies. Developing and revising programming, resource development, and publications (including web content) related to career development. Overseeing the timely and accurate collection and reporting of employment data. Managing the daily function of the Career Services Office, including managing and evaluating staff, setting goals, and preparing yearly reviews. Must have JD degree and 5+ years of related experience. College of Law is needed.
