Director, Public Service
The candidate will report directly to the Executive Director of the Public Service Law Center and work closely with the center’s Program Coordinator. Conduct employer outreach to nonprofit and government agencies to develop internship, jobs and pro bono opportunities. Coordinate internships, externship and job postings. Attend public service community events to develop contacts that will assist our students. Provide support along with the Executive Director to the Law School’s pro bono program. Keep up-to-date on developments in the legal market and practice-area trends. Counsel law students and alums on career planning, job search strategy, resume and cover letter writing, interview preparations and opportunities suiting a student’s interests. Assist in updating handouts, social media, intranet and web materials. Develop and maintain positive relationships with students and alumni, faculty, staff and administration. Must have 3+ years of legal working at a nonprofit and/or government agency. Should have strong interpersonal, writing, and organizational skills. Experience working with students is preferred. Recruiting or sales background is desired.
