Primary Function
This role works in partnership with Clients and Producers to artfully and skillfully tell stories and create video deliverables for clients. Style and format may include short form, long form, interviews, promos, executive messaging, motion graphics, animation, social, podcast and documentary film style.
Duties & Responsibilities
Edit and design substantive video productions and motion projects from concept through completion, noting intended audience and intended result of the project.
Perform technical editorial functions and make creative recommendations at various stages including rough cuts, graphic design & integration, audio sweetening, color correction, final revisions and delivery. Maintain technical consistency and deliver outstanding creative work.
Create and apply motion graphics and animation on an as needed basis for projects
A deep understanding of branding and marketing strategies and implementation
Aware of crucial stages of the entire project such as discovery, shoot days, key edit days, client approvals, final delivery and follow-up and the ability to hit each benchmark on time at a high level of quality
Assist in creating any additional needs as directed for staff & client
Media manage and archive assets under established protocol
Perform troubleshooting and minor engineering of edit suite
Other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
Expert storyteller and master of Post Production’s role in the creative process
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite. Extensive experience with Premiere, Final Cut, AVID, After Effects and other edit & graphics platforms is preferred.
Proficiency in working with in MAMs, DAMs, Post Production technology such as editing, colorist and audio facilities. Experience with HD and RAW digital workflows.
Strong working knowledge of digital video production and streaming technology and processes including the creation and dissemination of all formats of media files
Deep knowledge of video content delivery systems, asset management systems, post-production process and cloud workflow environments
Must be a proactive, creative problem solver
Positive attitude, initiative, energy and enthusiasm
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interface with creative talent and producers regularly and maintain excellent working relationships
Must work well in teams and be comfortable both giving direction and receiving it from others
Strong results orientation with a flexible attitude to deliver seamless and timely services to clients
Committed to advancement and learning within the industry
Education & Experience
Customer service orientation; professional presence and superior client relationship skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Media, or related field preferred
6 years’ demonstrated experience in digital video production
An outstanding portfolio of related work, whether at near entry level or more extensive at senior level will be the single most important factor
