Part-time Professor of Practice (Director, Democracy and Leadership Initiative)
The candidate will lead the initiative by teaching courses relating to state and local government, and democracy and leadership to students in law and other disciplines, perform research, and manage this cross-disciplinary program. Will teach a class relating to state and local government, and democracy and leadership. Work with the Law College's Dean, Senior Leadership, and external constituents to build and expand the Initiative. Collaborate with leadership at other colleges and units involved in the Initiative. Attend and/or present at events and conferences relating to the Initiative. Supervise students involved in Initiative events and activities. Co-author whitepapers relating to Initiative topics. Should have a J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school. Excellent writing skills are needed. Must have significant experience in politics, governance, and civic engagement.
