Metadata, Empirical, and Bibliographic Services Librarian
Duties: Coordinate the use of technology for the acquisition, accessibility, and retrieval of legal information in digital, paper, and other formats. Reporting immediately to Head of Digital and Bibliographic Services, will oversee the ordering, receipt, cataloging and processing of library materials, collaborate with other librarians to evaluate and select library materials, prepare financial and statistical reports, and serve as the primary liaison with publishers and vendors. Manages the library materials budget; Advises the Director on issues and new developments in library systems, as well as trends associated with the delivery of electronic resources and integration of electronic resources within the library collection; Assists with digital initiatives, including Scholarly Commons and other digital projects; Manages complex collection projects; Develops plans for management of catalog operations including original and copy cataloging, authority work, and quality control; Manages integrated library system modules; Collaborates with other members of the law library faculty and staff to provide faculty and student support; Manages all aspects of digital collections; Administers OCLC functions and shelf-ready processes, including local and consortial approval plans; Prepares statistical reports on the materials budget; Analyzes procedures and workflow to maximize resources and provides efficient access to materials; Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff; Conducts regular meetings with staff to coordinate departmental activities and communicate administrative policy and updates; Identifies training needs for the group and recommends or provides training to meet those needs; Supports institutional and empirical research within the law school and has a demonstrated understanding of statistics, data analysis, data visualization, regression analysis and related software tools such as SPSS.
