Script to extract and consolidate text data fields from semi-structured text files
Have thousands of text files with relatively similar data but structured in a different way. For example, in one file there might be a field called book and appear at the beginning , and in another one it might be called textbook and appear at the end and formatted differently.
Need to extract the text based on the fields I will provide (data can be found in text files using keywords), organize it into a dataset, and then have it accessible in a CSV or JSON file (depending on how you want to structure it). It is something I know how to do with Regular Expressions, but obviously dont want to go down that time consuming route, when someone smart can do it well.
Output is I need the combined dataset and the source code (Python Script).
I will provide 50% of the records (~2000 text files) and then test the script with the other 50% of the records. A freelancer may prefer to build a machine learning algorithm.
