Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Family Law Attorney to join their team in San Antonio, TX. The attorney will manage a diverse range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, support, and adoption. This full-time, on-site role requires regular court appearances and in-person client consultations.

Duties

• Meet with clients to assess case needs and provide legal advice.
• Draft and file motions and other pleadings.
• Conduct discovery and prepare for hearings and trials.
• Take depositions and negotiate settlements.
• Collaborate with support staff to manage case files and deadlines.

Requirements

• Strong foundation in law with demonstrated experience in family law.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex legal issues affecting families.
• Proficiency in drafting and arguing motions in family law proceedings.
• Experience preparing for, taking, and defending depositions.
• Active license to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
• Excellent written and verbal advocacy skills, including negotiation and courtroom presentation.
• High level of empathy, professionalism, and discretion when working with clients in crisis.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred, but not required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in Texas.
