Description

The Manager, Coding Education identifies opportunities to improve provider documentation and creates an education plan tailored to each assigned provider. The Manager, Coding Education works within specific guidelines and procedures; applies advanced technical knowledge to solve moderately complex problems; receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines approach, resources, schedules and goals.

Responsibilities

The Manager, Coding Education reviews medical records and arranges educational sessions with providers aimed at quality of care and documentation improvements. Decisions are typically related to resources, approach, and tactical operations for projects and initiatives involving own departmental area. Requires cross departmental collaboration, and conducts briefings and area meetings; maintains frequent contact with other managers across the department.


Lead Risk Adjustment initiatives with engaged provider partners

Oversee team of Risk Adjustment educators and support them with Joint Operating Committee presentations

Manage Electronic Medical Record connectivity between Humana and provider groups

Lead Practitioner Assessment Form program

Collaborate with Stars and Provider Engagement to optimize provider communications and performance

Assist Director with Corporate initiatives, market reviews and MAPD bid process


Required Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree

4 years of medical coding/risk adjustment experience

1 years of management or leadership experience

CPC (Certified Professional Coder) Certification required

Comprehensive knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Ability to problem solve complex issues

Experience guiding business and leadership in process improvement

Medical record review knowledge

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences


Preferred Qualifications


Risk Adjustment experience preferred

Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting data trends

Progressive business consulting and/or operational leadership experience

Comprehensive knowledge of Medicare policies, processes and procedures


Additional Information

This position will require travel up to 25% to provider offices in the LA or MS area and at least quarterly to Metairie office or Corporate Louisville office for departmental meetings.
