CONTROLLER
Rapidly expanding Construction firm seeking a highly organized hands-on Controller to manage accounting and financial operations. This role is responsible for performing the day-to-day general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and analysis for assigned functional areas. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem-solver with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Controller Responsibilities:
Comfortable handling all day to day transactions including issuing purchase orders, AP and AR.
Work closely with Vendors to timely and accurately true-up all project related costs.
Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close for assigned functional areas.
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries into financial systems and document business transactions.
Provide supervision and guidance to other members of the team.
Review all balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.
Assist with preparation and review of financial statements.
Check disbursements and reconciliation.
Reconcile Bank accounts to General Ledger monthly.
Assist with year-end audit deliverables and requests.
Analyze costs and profits
Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations
Provide supervision and guidance to other members of the team.
Controller Qualifications:
BS degree in Accounting Required
Strong knowledge in Construction Accounting and Job Costing Required
5-7 years related experience.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and legislation
Hands-on experience with general ledger accounts payable, accounts receivable and job costing functions
Experience with cash management and risk assessment.
Good knowledge of accounting software & construction software.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work with tight deadlines.
Strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with internal and external customers and vendors.
