A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Louisville, Kentucky office. This full-time, on-site role involves defending a variety of clients in state and federal courts. The position requires a minimum of three years of experience and a commitment to a 1,800-hour billable target. The ideal candidate will collaborate with partners and associates to develop case strategies and manage complex litigation matters.

Duties

• Draft legal briefs, pleadings, and discovery responses while conducting thorough legal research and writing.
• Argue motions, participate in depositions, and assist with trial preparation, trial proceedings, and post-trial activities.
• Attend mediations and collaborate with partners and associates to develop and implement comprehensive case strategies.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience practicing in state and federal courts.
• Must be licensed in Kentucky and in good standing with the Kentucky Bar Association.
• Demonstrate above-average writing and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to work effectively with other associates, staff, and partners.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Skills

• Expertise in general litigation, including motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation.
• Strong legal research and writing capabilities.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Ability to travel 10-25% as required for case-related matters.
