Primary Function
Seeking a senior full-stack developer to lead the development, testing and deployment of web and mobile solutions. This position requires hands-on, full-stack engineering capabilities, specifically a combination of back-end (preferably PHP, Node, JamStack) and UI programming (HTML, CSS, JS, etc). You will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including estimating, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and ongoing support. You will work with a cross-functional team, transforming wireframes and creative designs into functional requirements and subsequently into technical design and developed code. Hands-on coding will be required as part of the role. The best candidates have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems, specifically WordPress and headless platforms such as Contentful. Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and tools such as Jira, as well as infrastructure management/security and DevOps is also a must
Duties & Responsibilities
Be responsible for development sprint planning and delivery across both front and back-end work streams
Collaborate closely with clients, developers, enterprise architects, project managers, business analysts and end-users to build digital experiences
Build pixel-perfect front-end application code that meets the design requirements in close collaboration with product design
Ensure strong coding standards for efficiency, readability and reuse across all team members
Ability to multitask, juggle multiple projects / work streams simultaneously, and meet deadlines
Lead other development tasks such as testing, debugging, QA and deployment
Manage ongoing infrastructure maintenance and security-related tasks
A collaborative mindset, a positive attitude and genuine energy, passion and enthusiasm for the work
Self-motivated to learn and keep current with industry trends, latest tools and best practices
Skills & Qualifications
Experience with content management systems and data migration
Hands-on knowledge of WordPress or similar PHP-based CMS
Expert knowledge of HTML5/CSS3 and modern JavaScript libraries and tooling
Hands-on knowledge of modern stacks and libraries such as Node, React, Backbone, etc.
Awareness of cross-browser compatibility issues and client-side performance considerations
Expert experience with SASS, LESS including modern frameworks such as Compass, Bourbon, etc.
Advanced knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as React and Angular, as well as JSON-based API integrations
Expertise with build tools such as Grunt or Gulp
Experience in Scrum and Agile methodologies
Git/GitHub experience, including merging, rebasing, and pull requests
Knowledge of infrastructure management and configuration (Ubuntu, Nginx, Apache, etc)
Education & Experience
8 years of applicable industry and technical experience
