Job Description & Responsibilities
The developer role is responsible for the design, development and implementation of IT solutions that enable and sustain the company's trading business. The role works in collaboration with Technical Leads, Architects, and other team members to deliver Gas, Power, and NGL trading systems from front to back including user interfaces, server components, integration components with existing applications, and database objects.
Skills, Experiences, Knowledge
10 year of software development experience, namely developing enterprise line of business applications in mixed-platform environments (Java/.NET/Oracle/SQL Server)
Knowledge and experience of energy Trading, scheduling, valuation, risk management, and settlement systems
Strong experience in the development of large multi-tiered applications or systems
Strong Service design capabilities
Strong experience using .Net and Java frameworks and/or a variety of open source and commercial frameworks
Knowledge and experience of grid and/or distributed computing technologies, caching and in-memory data processing, and concurrent programming
Knowledge and experience with enterprise messaging patterns and technology
Knowledge and experience of software design patterns and enterprise integration patterns
Experienced in creating and reviewing design documents
Experience with using TFS in full software lifecycle
Experience with unit testing frameworks and proven experience apply good unit testing practices
Knowledge and experience of automated build tools and integrated builds
Nice-to-have skills/experiences
Working experience and knowledge of Power ETRM systems
Working experience and knowledge of nMarket
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and interact with business users directly
Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
Strong Leadership and Influencing Skills
Excellent team working skills
High self-motivation and strong delivery focus
