AI Project Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an AI Project Attorney to support the adoption, integration, and utilization of artificial intelligence in legal service delivery. This role, based in New York, NY, or available 100% remote within the U.S., collaborates across offices and practice groups to execute innovation initiatives.

Duties

• Develop and build generative AI workflows, use cases, and prompts for legal practice, including identifying agentic use cases.


• Create use case materials for various practice areas and roles, expanding prompt and workflow libraries to drive lawyer utilization.


• Train lawyers and timekeepers on AI through one-on-one sessions, workshops, and design-thinking sessions.


• Maintain expertise in the firm's generative AI tools, assisting with vetting, piloting, and onboarding new technology solutions.


• Support the development of best practices and programs to guide teams to appropriate resources and manage workflows.


• Communicate with clients on AI and legal tech solutions, developing case studies for marketing and business development.


 

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited university and admission to practice in good standing in a U.S. jurisdiction.


• Minimum of three years of experience as an attorney in a law firm or comparable legal environment.


• Strong technical aptitude, including familiarity with generative AI, large language models, and machine learning in legal practice.


• Experience building generative AI workflows, use cases, and prompts, alongside driving legal technology adoption.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in layman's terms.


• Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks independently.


 

Education

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited university or college.


 

Certifications

• Admission to practice in good standing in a U.S. jurisdiction.

• Proficiency in developing and maintaining generative AI workflows and prompt libraries.


• Ability to collaborate effectively at all organizational levels and work as a flexible team player.


• Strong interpersonal, customer service, and public relations skills with excellent diplomacy.
