Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Estate Litigation Associate in Lake Success, New York. This role involves supporting and expanding the estate litigation practice, offering hands-on training, mentorship, and significant client interaction. The associate will work closely with senior attorneys to develop litigation-related skills.

Duties

• Shadow partner-level attorneys in elder law, special needs planning, estate planning, estate administration, and guardianships.
• Assist senior attorneys focusing on estate litigation and related matters.
• Support commercial litigation arising from estate disputes.
• Provide assistance with Surrogate's Court filings, litigation preparation, and case management.
• Engage in litigation tasks as needed.
• Take on more independent work as skills develop.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in New York.
• Two years of relevant experience preferred, or newly admitted attorney with exceptional potential.
• Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
• Interest or experience in alternative dispute resolution is a plus.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New York.
