Job Overview

A law firm seeks an AI Project Attorney to support the adoption, integration, and utilization of artificial intelligence in legal service delivery. This role is based in Santa Monica, CA, with consideration for hybrid or 100% remote work within the United States. The position reports to the AI Innovation Attorney and collaborates across business units to execute strategic initiatives.

Duties

• Develop and build generative AI workflows, use cases, and prompts for legal practice, including identifying agentic use cases.


• Create use case materials for various practice areas and roles, expanding prompt and workflow libraries to drive lawyer utilization.


• Train lawyers and timekeepers on AI tools through one-on-one sessions, workshops, and design-thinking sessions.


• Maintain expertise in the firm's generative AI tools, assisting with vetting, piloting, and onboarding new technology solutions.


• Collaborate with practice group innovation attorneys to support the adoption of generative AI within their respective groups.


• Develop case studies and contribute content to firm communications, marketing resources, and innovation portals.


 

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited university and admission to practice in good standing in a U.S. jurisdiction.


• Minimum of three years of experience as an attorney in a law firm or comparable legal environment.


• Strong technical aptitude, including familiarity with generative AI, large language models, and machine learning in legal practice.


• Experience building generative AI workflows, use cases, and prompts specifically for the practice of law.


• Proven experience driving and supporting the adoption of legal technology within an organization.


 

Education

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited university or college.


 

Certifications

• Active admission to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical ideas in layman's terms.


• Proficiency in managing workflows, documents, and communications using best practices and technology.


• Excellent analytical, project management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
