Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Bankruptcy Attorney to join its team in Tallahassee, FL, with fully remote work capabilities. This role focuses on representing institutional clients in creditors' rights and bankruptcy matters, leveraging technology to manage complex legal processes efficiently.

Duties

• Attend hearings or prepare local appearance counsel with clear instructions for desired outcomes, providing timely results to internal teams and clients.



• Review and sign all pleadings to ensure compliance with internal and external rules, monitoring ECFs and dockets in real time for actionable events.



• Manage portfolio compliance by ensuring internal and external systems are updated with case-specific information and maintaining workable templates.



• Identify, escalate, and mitigate risk matters affecting the firm or current clients, ensuring adherence to local and federal procedural rules.



• Provide loan-level support by answering questions, offering robust legal analysis, and guiding staff on pleading preparation and process improvements.



• Conduct research to remain current on relevant case law, bankruptcy code developments, and jurisdictional changes impacting assigned matters.

Requirements

• Active bar admission in the state of hire with membership in good standing.



• Admission or ability to gain admission to all bankruptcy courts within the state of active bar membership.



• Experience representing creditors in bankruptcy proceedings in the jurisdiction of hire, or the willingness to obtain necessary bankruptcy knowledge.



• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and adapt to continual change.



• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a congenial and team-oriented approach.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active state bar license.



• Bankruptcy court admission (or eligibility).

Skills

• Proficiency in managing ECFs and dockets in real time.



• Strong ability to draft and review pleadings in compliance with local and federal rules.



• Experience with technology-driven legal process management.



• Ability to provide detailed legal analysis and guidance to staff and clients.
