A law firm seeks a Family Law Attorney in New York, NY. This role offers a primarily remote work environment with occasional in-office meetings and regular court appearances. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team dedicated to providing strategic representation in family law matters.

Duties

• Independently manage a caseload of divorce and family law matters, including custody and support issues.
• Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, and settlement conferences.
• Conduct client consultations and develop case strategies.
• Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and agreements.
• Conduct legal research and apply relevant legal authority.
• Negotiate settlements and counsel clients on litigation strategies.
• Maintain organized case files and ensure timely progress.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve strong client outcomes.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience practicing family law in NYC boroughs.
• JD from an ABA-accredited law school and New York Bar admission.
• Experience with complex, contested, and high-net-worth divorce matters.
• Strong courtroom advocacy, writing, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence.
• Ability to manage cases independently and collaborate remotely.
• Proficiency with case management systems and cloud-based platforms.
• Ability to meet a minimum of 30 billable hours per week.
• Regular court appearances in NYC, particularly Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.

Skills

• Strong legal document preparation and case management skills.
• Excellent negotiation and client counseling abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and cloud-based platforms.
