Privacy Cybersecurity AI and Tech Transactions Associate

Job Overview

Duties

• Direct and ongoing experience with cybersecurity incident response, including state-specific and federal breach notification requirements.



• Analyze internal privacy and security policies and counsel clients on legal implications during and after a security incident.



• Draft and review service agreements, privacy policies, employee privacy notices, data and AI governance policies, terms of use, and NDAs.



• Prepare end-user license agreements, data protection addenda, business associate agreements, and other IP and data-related contracts.



• Provide product counseling for digital marketing, adtech, AI deployment, chatbots, and mobile applications.



• Conduct M&A diligence and negotiation related to technology and intellectual property transactions.

Requirements

• 3 to 6 years of active practice focusing on data privacy, cybersecurity, AI, and technology transactions.



• Significant experience and deep knowledge of U.S. sector and state privacy regimes, including GLBA, HIPAA, and COPPA.



• Working knowledge or further familiarity with the EU and UK GDPR and other international regimes is desired.



• Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task independently under deadlines and efficiently manage firm resources.



• Ability to effectively delegate, prioritize case assignments, and recognize inefficiencies in work processes.

Education

• Law degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications

• Must be certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) for the United States.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a close-knit team.



• Proficiency with specialized software and online programs as required.
