Post-Doctoral Associate
Duties: Research design, implementation and interpretation. Will be responsible for writing all manuscripts. Will also assist in the technical training and supervision of technicians, undergraduate and graduate students. Will participate actively in the department seminars and journal clubs. Experimental design and implementation and Mouse experiments to study metabolism and inflammation. Biochemical, molecular biology and cell biological assays of autophagy and mitophagy using cell culture and mouse/rat tissue. Identify and characterize novel components in the mTOR/autophagy pathway. Drafting scientific manuscripts and serve as primary author of manuscripts. Training/supervision of technicians and undergraduates and Supervise technical staff and students for data acquisition and interpretation. Assist in planning and drafting extramural research proposals and work with supervisor to plan and draft portions of research grants. Participation in seminars, journal clubs and symposia and present at least 1 seminar per year and regularly attend relevant local seminars and journal clubs.
